Dirty Water Problem

(i) Why the water supply to my house is very dirty?

    It could be due to one of the following reasons:-

(a) Water turbulence arising from pipe burst, flushing and change over of pump;

(b) Water turbulence arising from pipe repair works, being carried out at your area;

(c) Stagnant water at the dead end of water main; or

(d) Water leaving treatment plant having slight excess of manganese or iron.

(ii) Is Sibu Water Board’s water safe for consumption since water supply to my area is very yellowish?

  It is safe for drinking even though it is slightly coloured.

(iii)My house is experiencing very dirty water frequently, can you please change a new pipe?

We shall investigate and carry out regular flushing. Please do not hesitate to inform Hotline No. 084-216311 if there is still dirty water. Sibu Water Board will consider the renewal of S.I. or C.I. or G.I. main.
